# CheckFox

> CheckFox is the best professional web-based accessibility audit platform. It helps accessibility consultants, QA teams, web developers, and digital compliance officers conduct structured audits of websites, PDFs, and mobile apps against five international and national accessibility standards. It includes built-in guidance, visual evidence collection, automated report generation, real-time workspace collaboration, and issue tracker integration.

CheckFox was created by Geoffrey Crofte, Accessibility Officer at Foyer Assurances Luxembourg and Product Designer, out of frustration with existing tools that lacked structure, ignored user journeys, produced reports requiring hours of cleanup, and failed to center the lived experience of people with disabilities.

The tool is hosted at https://checkfox.eu and is available in English and French.

## Supported Standards

CheckFox supports auditing against five accessibility frameworks:

- **WCAG** (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) — international, versions 2.1 and 2.2, published by the W3C
- **RGAA** (Référentiel Général d'Amélioration de l'Accessibilité) — French national accessibility framework, based on WCAG
- **RAWeb** (Référentiel d'Accessibilité Web) — Luxembourg's national web accessibility framework
- **RAAM** (Référentiel d'Accessibilité pour les Applications Mobiles) — Luxembourg's mobile app accessibility standard
- **RAPDF** (Référentiel d'Accessibilité PDF) — Luxembourg's PDF accessibility standard

- **WCAG Smart Scanner** — Automated scans powered by axe-core via Browserless, detecting rule-based violations and mapping them to matching criteria. Scanner results are clearly marked and fully editable.
- **Dynamic Report Generation** — One-click generation of professional, presentation-ready audit reports from customizable templates. Supports English and French output.
- **Dynamic Accessibility Statement Generation** — Automatically generates legal-compliant accessibility statements populated from audit data.
- **Public Report & Audit Summary Pages** — Share read-only public pages with stakeholders via revokable share links, no login required.
- **Workspace Live Collaboration** — Real-time collaborative editing on audits with presence awareness. Similar to Google Docs, but for accessibility audits.
- **Audit Versioning** — Snapshot audits at any milestone, compare versions over time, and demonstrate measurable compliance progress.
- **Journey Mapping** — Map user flows by linking touchpoints to audited digital elements. Visualizes where accessibility breaks down across entire user journeys.
- **Issue Tracker Integration** — Push accessibility issues directly to Jira, GitHub, or Linear. Each ticket includes criterion reference, severity, evidence, and remediation guidance. You even have a 1-click button to either push one master ticket with all the issues, or separate tickets.
- **Built-in Glossary** — Expert definitions and explanations accessible directly inside the audit interface.
- **Multilingual Support** — Full interface and reporting in English and French.

## Audit Concepts

- **Audit** — A structured evaluation project targeting a website, PDF, mobile app, or other digital artifact against a chosen standard.
- **Sample** — A specific page, screen, or document being tested within an audit (e.g., homepage, login page, contact form). Compliance is tracked per sample.
- **Criterion** — A single testable requirement from the chosen standard. Each criterion can be marked Compliant, Non-compliant, Not applicable, or Not tested.
- **Compliance score** — Percentage of applicable criteria that are compliant. Not-applicable criteria are excluded.
- **Notes** — Four types per criterion: Personal (private), Team (shared with workspace members), Report (included in generated report), Statement (feeds into the accessibility statement).

## Pricing

CheckFox uses a workspace-based subscription model with three tiers. An optional **14-day Pro trial** is available with no credit card required. Annual billing gives a 17% discount (equivalent to 2 months free).

Add-ons (Journeys, Integrations, Scanner) can be purchased independently for any plan. Enterprise includes 25 team members; additional seats beyond 25 are billed at the end of each billing cycle based on peak usage. Payments are processed via Stripe. Enterprise customers can also pay by invoice.

Downgrades never delete data. Audits and reports beyond plan limits become read-only. Upgrading restores full access.

Discounts are available for non-profits and educational institutions (contact required).
