1.2 Does each graphic element conveying information have an alternative accessible to assistive technologies?

Official methodology to test criterion 1.2

Test 1 (1.2)

iOS and Android
  1. Activate the screen reader.
  2. Identify graphic element conveying informations on the screen (see glossary note on the particularities of rendering), for example an image or icon.
  3. Check
    • that they can be reached with the screen reader;
    • or that the information they convey is rendered from another element on the screen.
  4. If this is the case, the criterion is validated.
