CheckFox was born out of frustration with existing tools, and a dream of what an accessibility audit platform should feel like.
The story behind CheckFox
For years, I managed accessibility audits the hard way, copying findings into spreadsheets, juggling screenshots in folders, and wrestling with templates that were never built with the end user's experience in mind.
I'm Geoffrey Crofte. I work as an Accessibility Officer at Foyer Assurances Luxembourg and as a Product Designer. I've spent well over a decade thinking about what makes a digital experience truly inclusive, but somehow, the tools I used to audit those experiences were anything but.
Every tool I tried either lacked structure, ignored the user journey, produced reports that needed hours of manual cleanup, or simply didn't care about the bigger picture: the lived experience of people with disabilities navigating the digital world.
So I built the tool I always dreamed of. CheckFox is what I wished existed when I started: structured, collaborative, evidence-driven, and genuinely focused on making accessibility work that actually matters.

Why "CheckFox"?
A small joke, a bigger idea, and one very smart fox.
A checkbox, but cleverer
Swap the "box" for a "fox", and "checkbox" becomes "CheckFox". The fox is the smart one of the forest: quick, curious, and famously a creature of habit. Spot one in your garden today, and you'll likely see it again tomorrow, on the very same little path. I wanted a tool that slips into your routine the same way: smart enough to help, familiar enough that it never gets in your way.
Accessibility isn't a checkbox
The community has long pushed back against "checkbox compliance", the comfortable idea that ticking a few legal items is enough. It isn't. Real accessibility is a cultural and process change, a way of designing with care for the people who'll use the result. Conformity is a wonderful first step, but it's only that: a first step. CheckFox is here for that step, and for every one that follows.
