Official methodology to test criterion 2.2
Test 1 (2.2.1)
For normal text size, does the contrast ratio between the text and its background meet one of these conditions (excluding special cases)?
- The contrast ratio between the text and its background is at least 4.5:1.
- A replacement mechanism is used to display the text with a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
Test 2 (2.2.2)
For enlarged text, does the contrast ratio between the text and its background meet one of these conditions (excluding special cases)?
- The contrast ratio between the text and its background is at least 3:1.
- A replacement mechanism is used to display the text with a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.
