Community

CheckFox wants to gather a community of accessibility experts from around the world, and you are welcome in it. It is the fastest way to get support, and the best place to talk shop with people who audit for a living.

Free and open to everyone

Pick your platform

The same community lives on two platforms. Discord is where most people are. Stoat is there for anyone who would rather not use Discord. Both lead to the same conversations, so pick whichever suits you.

Invitation links appear once you activate a button. They are hidden behind that action to keep automated crawlers away from them.

Discord

The main hub. Text channels, forum channels for longer questions, and voice rooms for coworking. Works in the browser, on desktop, and on mobile.

Stoat

The alternative, for people who prefer to stay off Discord. Same channels, same people, a lighter and more privacy-minded client.

What goes on in there

Text, forum, and voice channels are all in use. Here is what you will find:

  • Fast support

Ask me anything about CheckFox. A question posted in the community usually gets an answer faster than by email, and the answer stays there for the next person who needs it.

  • Accessibility help

Stuck on a criterion, an ARIA pattern, or a stubborn PDF? Bring the case to a channel and get input from auditors who have already met it.

  • Resources and references

Articles, specifications, tooling, screen reader notes, and reference material shared and curated by members.

  • Coworking

Voice channels for focused coworking sessions. Camera off, mic muted, and audit alongside other people who are doing the same.

  • Audit tips

Real methodology talk: sampling strategies, evidence gathering, report writing, and the small tricks that make an audit go faster.

  • Accessibility job postings

Roles, freelance missions, and calls for auditors, posted by members and by organisations looking for accessibility expertise.

  • And more

Product announcements, early access to new features, feedback threads, and a few channels that have nothing to do with work.

A few house rules

Nothing surprising, but worth saying out loud:

  • Be kind and assume good faith. Everyone was a beginner at some point.
  • Practice what we preach: describe the images you post, caption the videos you share, and avoid posting screenshots of text without a transcript.
  • Keep questions in the channel that fits them. It makes answers findable for everyone later.
  • Sharing your work is welcome, repeated advertising is not.

Prefer to reach me privately?

Chat is not for everyone, and some topics do not belong in public. Email works too, and the support page has the address plus the FAQ and the glossary.
