What CheckFox stores in your browser, and why there is no cookie banner.
No consent banner, and that is deliberate
CheckFox sets only cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for, and measures its audience without cookies and without storing IP addresses. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary storage is exempt from consent, so there is nothing here to ask you to accept.

2. Audience measurement
Public pages use Umami to count visits. It sets no cookie, stores no IP address, and builds no profile and no cross-site identifier. What is kept is aggregated: how many people viewed a page, which page they came from, and a coarse country and device type.
Because no identifier is stored on your device, this is not covered by Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and does not require consent. It relies on my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful, and you can object at any time.
Umami is listed as a sub-processor in the register.
3. What is not here
- No advertising cookies.
- No social network tracking pixels.
- No cross-site tracking, and no sharing of browsing data with third parties for their own purposes.
- No sale of personal data, in any form.
4. Controlling what is stored
Your browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and local storage for any site. Blocking the strictly necessary items above will sign you out and prevent CheckFox from working, which is the trade-off; blocking anything else has no effect here, since there is nothing else.
Most browsers also offer a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Since no tracking takes place, there is nothing for it to switch off.
5. Changes
If a cookie is ever added that is not strictly necessary, this page will be updated, its version raised, and consent will be requested before that cookie is set. See also the Privacy Policy.
