Accessible version (for a downloadable document)
Downloadable documents whose format types are recognised as compatible with accessibility must be made accessible either directly or via an accessible version or a version in HTML. The document formats recognised as compatible are:
- Microsoft Office (Word 2003, OOXML);
- LibreOffice (ODF);
- Adobe PDF;
- EPUB/Daisy.
PDF documents must comply with the PDF accessibility assessment framework (RAPDF). Other types of content must comply with the criteria of section 10 Non-web documents of European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1.
Note: the text format (txt) cannot be used to produce an accessible version (for a downloadable document).
