Accessible version
Downloadable documents whose format types are recognised as compatible with accessibility must be made accessible either directly or via an accessible version (for a downloadable document). The document formats recognised as compatible are
- Microsoft Office (Word 2003, OOXML);
- Open Office Org (ODF);
- Adobe PDF;
- ePub/Daisy.
PDF documents must comply with the PDF accessibility assessment framework (RAPDF 1). Other types of content must comply with the criteria of section 10 Non-web documents of European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1.
Note: TXT format cannot be used to produce an accessible version for a downloadable document.
