Key repeat

Feature which consists of printing (on the screen, in an input zone for example) a character several times as long as the corresponding key on the keyboard (visual or physical) is activated.

When keys are associated with functions in an application, it is no longer the character that is printed several times, but the function that can then be repeated several times.

The trigger delay and the delay between two key repetitions is a parameter that can be defined at the platform level, but an application could allow this parameter to be configured as well. See possible configuration parameters on iOS for example.
