Transcript (time-based media)
This term is defined by more than one standard, and the wording differs. Each definition below is the one that applies to that standard’s criteria.
Definition in RAWeb 1.1
Textual content associated with a time-based media object using the appropriate technique (text encoded in HTML or in a text file located on the same page or available via a link). This content gives the user access (independently of viewing the multimedia object) to
- All of what is expressed orally;
- All the descriptive information necessary for an equivalent understanding of the action.
This textual information must be presented in the chronological order in which it appears in the time-based media.
Note: the transcript must be located outside the <object> tag.

Text content associated with time-based media using the appropriate technique (text present in the interface or in a text file located on the same screen or available via a button). This content gives the user access (independently of viewing the multimedia object) to
- everything that is said orally;
- all the descriptive information needed for an equivalent understanding of the action.
