Generate and publish an accessibility statement from an audit.

Goal

Produce a publishable accessibility statement reflecting the audit's findings.

Preconditions

  • The audit's criteria have been evaluated for at least the most recent samples.
  • Failures and "Not auditable" verdicts have problem and solution text. See methodology / finding quality.
  • A statement template is selected for the workspace (built-in or custom).

Steps

  1. Open the audit and go to the Statement tab.
  2. CheckFox pre-fills the statement from the audit data using the active template.
  3. Review and edit each section:
    • Service identification
    • Scope (audit boundaries, what was and was not evaluated)
    • Conformance status (auto-computed; can be adjusted with justification)
    • Known limitations (drawn from failures)
    • Audit date and next review date
    • Contact and enforcement procedure
  4. Click Save draft.
  5. When ready, click Publish to mark the statement as the current public version.

Verify success

  • The statement preview matches what will be published.
  • All required sections are present and non-empty.
  • The next review date is set to a realistic future date (commonly 12 months out).

Common pitfalls

  • Empty issues section. Even a fully conformant audit should mention scope limitations and known exceptions.
  • Missing contact and enforcement sections. These are legally required.
  • Forgetting to update the statement after the next audit. Set a calendar reminder for the next review date.
